The late Dr. Cyril Loke, is the founder of EDS (M) Sdn Bhd. He was the adviser and had been consulted in all decision making with regard to the strategic direction and the day-to-day operations of EDS.
He had over 34 years of experience in running a successful business and 21 years of entrepreneurial practice in data storage industry. Under Dr. Cyril Loke’s guidance and vision, he spearheaded the company to achieve rapid growth within the local data storage arena.
Prior to being the founder of EDS, he began his career in 1969 at Olivetti (M) Sdn Bhd. He moved on to Plessy (M) Sdn Bhd in 1970 where he was responsible for the sales of accounting machines. Later in 1973, he joined APS (M) Sdn Bhd as a manager where he headed the company’s day to day operations. He was the first who promoted and sold the U-Bix plain paper photocopy machine in Malaysia. He had also worked with International Overseas Holdings (IOH) as a General Manager for 12 years. Besides overseeing the company, Dr. Loke was also responsible to grow the agency line. His achievement at IOH includes being the first in Southeast Asia to install the data vault system for a leading financial institution.
Prior to his university education, he had his pre university education at English College in Johor Bahru from 1963-66. His strings of academic achievements include a major in Chemistry with Mathematics at the University of Malaya from 1966 to 1969. Later, he graduated with a Diploma in Marketing from Thomas Edison College, USA and further obtained his Master of Business Administration from Connaught University, Ireland in 1989.
In 1991, he obtained the doctorate of business administration from Pacific Western University, Los Angeles, United States of America. The focus of his Phd research was on Media Management and Data Security.
